Why Not Ask God About the Sabbath?

安息日のことを神様にうかがってみたら？

1.     1.  Tell me, Lord, Do you have a special day of rest for Your followers? 

主よ、あなたは、信者に、特別に守らせたい日がありますか？

I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day. Rev1:10

2.     2.  But which day is the Lord's Day? Which day are You Lord of?

"For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." Matt12:8

3.     3.  There are seven days in the week. Which day is the Sabbath day?

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.  Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. Ex.20:8-10

4.     4.  But, Lord, didn't you abolish the law which contains the Sabbath commandment?

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. Matt5:17

5.     5.  Well, at least, didn't you change one of the commandments so that today your followers may keep another day than the seventh day?

"For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one little will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Matt5:18

6.     6.  Someone told me that after Your crucifixion, Lord, even your disciples no longer kept the seventh-day Sabbath according to the commandment. Is this true? 

しかし、主よ、ある人たちは、あなたの十字架以後は、もう弟子たちも十戒通りの第七日安息日を守っていないと言っていますが。どうでしょうか？

Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures. Acts17:2

7.     7.  Did Paul meet with the Gentiles converts on the Sabbath, too?  Perhaps he met with the Jews on the Sabbath and the Greeks on Sunday.  What about that?

パウロは安息日に、異邦人とも集会をしていたのですか？それともユダヤ人とだけ集会をしていたのですか？ギリシャ人とは日曜日に集会をしていたのではないですか？

And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks. Acts18:4

8.     8.  What did Paul teach in regard to Sabbath keeping? 

パウロは安息日の遵守について何か教えていますか？

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.  For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Hebrew4:9-10

こういうわけで、安息日の休みが、神の民のためにまだ残されているのである。なぜなら、神の安息にはいった者は、神がみわざをやめて休まれたように、自分もわざを休んだからである。ヘブル4:9-10

9.     9.  Then why is it so many people keep Sunday instead of Saturday? If the Bible teaches Sabbath keeping, how and by whom was Sunday keeping introduced into Christianity? 

もし、聖書が安息日を守るように教えているなら、誰が、どうして教会に日曜日を持ち込んだのでしょうか？

He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Dan7:25

彼は、いと高き者に敵して言葉を出し、かつ、いと高き者の聖徒を悩ます。彼はまた時と律法とを変えようと望む。ダニエル7:25

10.  10.  What difference does it make which day I keep? A day is a day isn't it?

Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? Rom6:16

あなたがたは知らないのか。あなたがた自身が、だれかの僕になって服従するなら、あなたがたは自分の服従するその者の僕であって、死に至る罪の僕ともなり、あるいは、義にいたる従順の僕ともなるのである。ローマ6:16

11.  11. Then what shall I do, obey the Sabbath of God's commandment or keep the Sunday of man? 

では、わたしはどうしたらいいのですか？神の戒めである安息日を守るべきですか、それとも人の決めた日曜日でしょうか？

But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: "We ought to obey God rather than men. Acts5:29

これに対して、ペテロをはじめ使徒たちは言った、「人間に従うよりは、神に従うべきである。使徒行伝5:29

12.  12. Well, Lord, what do You think of Sunday keeping? 

主よ、では、あなたは日曜遵守のことをどう思われますか？

Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.  And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'  Matt15:6,9

こうしてあなたがたは自分たちの言伝えによって、神の言を無にしている。人間のいましめを教として教え、無意味にわたしを拝んでいる』。マタイ5:6,9

13.  13.  But surely the millions of people who keep Sunday can't be wrong, can they? 

しかし、日曜を守っている人は億といるんですが、そんなに多くの人が間違っているんですか？

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

"Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matt7:13,14

狭い門からはいれ。滅びにいたる門は大きく、その道は広い。そして、そこからはいって行く者が多い。命にいたる門は狭く、その道は細い。そして、それを見いだす者が少ない。マタイ7:13,14

14.  14. bBut Dr. So-and-so is a very wise man: Why doesn't he and all the great preachers keep the Sabbath? 

博士号を持った賢い方や、他の大伝道者はどうして安息日を守らないのですか？

For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.  But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 1Cor1:26,27

兄弟たちよ。あなたがたが召された時のことを考えてみるがよい。人間的には、知恵のある者が多くはなく、権力のある者も多くはなく、身分の高い者も多くはいない。それだのに神は、知者をはずかしめるために、この世の愚かな者を選び、強い者をはずかしめるために、この世の弱い者を選ばれた。コリント第一1:26,27

15.  15. But I have accepted Jesus; I know He is my Saviour; I know He has accepted me and I have been keeping Sunday. Surely I would not be lost if I did not keep the Sabbath now, would I? 

わたしはイエス様を受け入れていますし、わたしの救い主だと信じています。そして日曜日をずっと守ってきました。ですから安息日を守っていなくても、失われることはないでしょうね？

"Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. Acts17:30

16.  16.   I know you, Lord. You wouldn't condemn me for breaking the Sabbath, would you?

He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1John2:4

17.  17. But isn't it sufficient that I love the Lord and live by the law of love? 

でも、わたしは主を愛し、愛の戒めによって生きているだけで十分ではないでしょうか？

"If  you love Me, keep My commandments. John14:15

もしあなたがたがわたしを愛するならば、わたしのいましめを守るべきである。ヨハネ14:15

18.  18. Does that mean all ten of them? 

戒めとおっしゃると、十条全部ですか？

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James2:10

なぜなら、律法をことごとく守ったとしても、その一つの点にでも落ち度があれば、全体を犯したことになるからである。ヤコブ2:10

19.  19.  Well, I think that if we try to follow Jesus, that is all that is necessary. Isn't that right, Jesus? 

わたしはイエス様にお従いするように努めています。それで十分ではないでしょうか、イエス様？

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. 1John2:6

「彼におる」と言う者は、彼が歩かれたように、その人自身も歩くべきである。ヨハネ第一2:6

20.  20.  How did you walk, Lord, what was your custom? 

では、あなたは日常どのように歩まれましたか？あなたの日常習慣はどうでしたか？

So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. Luke4:16

それからお育ちになったナザレに行き、安息日にいつものように会堂にはいり、聖書を朗読しようとして立たれた。ルカ4:16

21.  21.  But, Lord, that was over 2,000 years ago. Wouldn't you keep some other day than Saturday if you should come to earth today? 

しかし、主よ、それはもう2千年も前の事です。もし、あなたが今の時代に来られたら、土曜日でない日を守っておられるのではありませんか？

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Heb13:8

イエス・キリストは、きのうも、きょうも、いつまでも変ることがない。ヘブル13:8

22.  22.  Do you think it would be absolutely necessary to keep the commandments to receive eternal life? 

あなたは永遠の命を受けるためには、戒めを守ることが絶対に必要だとお考えですか？

But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments." Matt19:17b

もし命に入りたいと思うなら、いましめを守りなさい」。マタイ19:17b

23.  23.  But, Lord! Lord! Can't I do something else? Won't my profession get me to heaven? 

しかし、主よ、わたしは何か代わりにできる事はありませんか？わたしの信仰告白だけで天国に行かれないでしょうか？

"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Matt7:21

わたしにむかって『主よ、主よ』と言う者が、みな天国にはいるのではなく、ただ、天にいますわが父の御旨を行う者だけが、はいるのである。マタイ7:21

24.  24.  But I pray. 

だけどわたしはお祈りをしてます。

One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination. Prov28:9

耳をそむけて律法を聞かない者は、その祈でさえも憎まれる。箴言28:9

25.  25.  But, Lord, look at the people who work miracles in Your name. Some heal the sick, others talk in tongues and do many wonderful things; yet they do not keep the Sabbath. What about them? 

しかし、主よ、あなたの名によって奇跡を行っている人たちがいるではありませんか。ある人たちは病人を癒し、ある人たちは異言を語り、不思議なわざもしています。しかし、安息日は守っていません。彼らはどうなんでしょうか。

"Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'  "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' Matt7:22,23

その日には、多くの者が、わたしにむかって『主よ、主よ、わたしたちはあなたの名によって預言したではありませんか。また、あなたの名によって悪霊を追い出し、あなたの名によって多くの力あるわざを行ったではありませんか』と言うであろう。

そのとき、わたしは彼らにはっきり、こう言おう、『あなたがたを全く知らない。不法を働く者どもよ、行ってしまえ』。マタイ7:22,23

26.  26.  Yes, I know the Sabbath is right; but my business would suffer if I closed on Sabbath. I might lose my job. I wouldn't get ahead in the world! 

はい、安息日が正しい事は分かりました。しかし、安息日に休んだら、仕事が損失します。私は失業するかもしれません。

"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Mark8:36

人が全世界をもうけても、自分の命を損したら、なんの得になろうか。マルコ8:36

27.  27.  Well, for myself I wouldn't care; but what about my family? Wouldn't it be better for me to work on the Sabbath than to let my family starve? 

えぇ、私はかまいませんが、わたしの家族はどうなるでしょうか？家族を路頭に迷わせるよりは、安息日に働いたほうがいいのじゃないでしょうか？

"For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matt6:32,33

これらのものはみな、異邦人が切に求めているものである。あなたがたの天の父は、これらのものが、ことごとくあなたがたに必要であることをご存じである。  まず神の国と神の義とを求めなさい。そうすれば、これらのものは、すべて添えて与えられるであろう。マタイ6:32,33

I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. Psalm37:25

28.  28.  My friends will laugh at me and ridicule me. 

それにしても、友人知人たちがわたしを嘲り笑うと思います。

"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

"Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matt5:11,12

わたしのために人々があなたがたをののしり、また迫害し、あなたがたに対し偽って様々の悪口を言う時には、あなたがたは、さいわいである。喜び、よろこべ、天においてあなたがたの受ける報いは大きい。あなたがたより前の預言者たちも、同じように迫害されたのである。マタイ5:11,12

29.  29.  But suppose my own family does not agree with me. Should I go against their wishes, which would mean in some cases a division in the home? 

しかし、家族の中に賛成しない者がいます。家庭内に分裂を起こしてまでも、彼らの意に反したほうがいいのでしょうか？

"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

"And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. Matt10:37,38

わたしよりも父または母を愛する者は、わたしにふさわしくない。わたしよりもむすこや娘を愛する者は、わたしにふさわしくない。

また自分の十字架をとってわたしに従ってこない者はわたしにふさわしくない。マタイ10:37,38

"So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. Luke14:33

それと同じように、あなたがたのうちで、自分の財産をことごとく捨て切るものでなくては、わたしの弟子となることはできない。ルカ14:33

30.  30.  I am afraid I won't be able to withstand all these trials. I am too weak. 

わたしはどうもこんな多くの試練には耐えられそうもありません。わたしは弱いのです。

And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2Cor12:9,10

ところが、主が言われた、「わたしの恵みはあなたに対して十分である。わたしの力は弱いところに完全にあらわれる」。それだから、キリストの力がわたしに宿るように、むしろ、喜んで自分の弱さを誇ろう。だから、わたしはキリストのためならば、弱さと、侮辱と、危機と、迫害と、行き詰まりとに甘んじよう。なぜなら、わたしが弱い時にこそ、わたしは強いからである。コリント第二12:9,10

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil4:13

31.  31.  Then, Lord, what is the reward for being faithful to You and the commandments? 

主よ、では、あなたとあなたの戒めに忠実にするならば、どんな報いがあるのでしょうか？

So He said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, "who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life." Luke18:29,30

イエスは言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。だれでも神の国のために、家、妻、兄弟、両親、子を捨てた者は、

必ずこの時代ではその幾倍もを受け、また、きたるべき世では永遠の生命を受けるのである」。ルカ18:29,30

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. Rev22:14

いのちの木にあずかる特権を与えられ、また門をとおって都にはいるために、自分の着物を洗う者たちは、さいわいである。黙示録22:14

32.  32.  Lord, I'm looking forward to a home in the earth made new; will we keep the Sabbath there too? 

主よ、わたしは新天新地に住むことを期待しています。わたしたちはそこでもやはり安息日を守るのでしょうか？

"For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me," says the Lord, "So shall your descendants and your name remain.  And it shall come to pass That from one New Moon to another, And from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to worship before Me," says the Lord. Isa66:22,23

わたしが造ろうとする新しい天と、新しい地がわたしの前にながくとどまるように、あなたの子孫と、あなたの名はながくとどまる」と主は言われる。「新月ごとに、安息日ごとに、すべての人はわが前に来て礼拝する」と主は言われる。イザヤ66:22,23

33.  33.  Then, Lord, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” With Your help, I will keep the Sabbath. 

では、主よ、御心が天になるごとく地にもなりますように。あなたのお助けによって、わたしは安息日を守ります。

'Well done, good and faithful servant. Matt25:21
